Irina Kalintzaki was born in Athens. She studied architecture at the Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris and later on at the College of Environmental Design of the California State Polytechnic University, U.S.A. She effectuated post-diploma studies on theater and scenography at the Institut des Etudes Théâtrales of the Sorbonne University in Paris. During her studies she participated in several art and theater workshops.
She worked as a freelance architect, interior designer and scenographer in Athens, Paris and London for many years and since 2009 she works exclusively as an artist and jewelry designer.
She has participated in several group exhibitions in Athens and Paris, and in May 2011 she presented her first solo exhibition at ChiliArt Gallery in Athens entitled “Luxury? Oh! Let them eat cake…” jewelry/wearable installations. Part of her work is included in the edition “Smart art in Greece II” by Elia Editions 2012. Her jewelry is available at the Benaki Museum and selected shops.
